This chili recipe is loaded with meat, beans, and vegetables. It can also be easily adjusted to your preferences.
My family loves a good pot of homemade chili, it’s flavorful and packed with nutritious ingredients. My favorite way to cook chili is with my Dutch Oven, it makes clean up a breeze. We also really enjoy adding our own choice of toppings; I prefer cornbread/chips, green onions, and then either sour cream or cheese.
Easy homemade chili ingredients
- Beef: the recipe calls for 1 lb of ground beef, I prefer to use lean, and you could opt to use ground turkey too.
- Beans: I use either a can of dark or light kidney beans, you could substitute or add an additional can of black beans, or pinto beans as well.
- Vegetables: vegetables is a must add for me, and cooking the ground beef with the diced onion and bell pepper bring out the flavors more. You can use a red, yellow or green bell pepper.
- Canned tomatoes: if you’d like to add more kick to your chili, use a can of diced tomatoes with green chilies.
- Spices: can’t forget the seasonings, if will make the world of difference for your chili!
