Garlic shrimp stir fry with a kick! – kid approved
Lately I’ve been venturing out of my comfort zone of being a recipe follower and coming up with my own recipes and making things from scratch. Not to mention we have been trying to eat out less and just make things at home, this meal that cost us less than $12 to feed our family would of cost us $30 to get take out from the local “teriyaki #” and tastes just as good. The best part kid approved, Mason absolutely loved this even with the little kick in it. “Wow, you made this? It’s so good!” It really isn’t that spicy but if you are really sensitive then cut the sweet chili sauce in half and not a fan of seafood, this recipe is just as good with chicken! This garlic shrimp stir fry is very tasty, quick and easy to make. Perfect for those busy school nights!
Get all your ingredients ready. Pull a bag of mixed veggies(we use stir fry) out of the freezer, mix all the sauce ingredients together in bowl. Next get your shrimp ready, I like to pull the tails off before I cook them it’s just a little easier with a kid BUT you do not need to!
Add a little oil to your pan, if you’re using cooked shrimp like we did then only fry for about 3 minutes.
Pour the sauce in with the shrimp and fry for another 3-5 minutes.
Lastly add the bag of veggies in with the shrimp and fry for another 5-7 minutes, until the veggies are thawed and cooked thoroughly. After the stir fry is ready, pour over a bowl of rice and enjoy!
