Our family loves pizza, whether it’s trying out a new pizza place, eating at our favorites or creating our own at home. Pizza’s are so much fun to make together with my children, they are so easy, everyone can make a version of their own and they don’t take very long to prep and bake. Recently, we made these flatbread pizzas for a snack and they were a huge hit with my family. My 10 year old has already said he wants to make them for after school snacks and that he can do all the work, with a little help with the oven.

You’ll need very few ingredients and feel free to experiment and use what your family loves. We love the flatbread by Stonefire but flour tortilla shells work great as well!! Preheat your oven to 350° and then get your “crust”, cheese, olive oil, tomato and basil ready. Garlic’s optional!

Chop your tomato, shred or slice your mozzarella, and pull basil leaves off stem. Take your flatbread out of the package and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Drizzle olive oil over entire flatbread and spread evenly. If you didn’t use roasted garlic bread, you can sprinkle some garlic over the bread.

Sprinkle a thin layer of cheese, place tomato slices and basil evenly on your flatbread. Then another layer of cheese over the veggies and now your flatbread is ready for the oven. After your oven is preheated, place the baking sheet in and bake for 5-6 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Take your flatbread out of the oven when the cheese is melted enough, let cool for about 2 minute and serve warm.

Pair them with dinner or have as a snack, perfect for after school snack as they don’t take very long to make and your older child could easily make them all by themselves. You can also add whatever toppings you’d like, make them to your liking. Hope you enjoy these as much as we do!
