Spring Bucket List
I love creating seasonal bucket lists! It contains all the stuff we look forward to doing. And I really look forward to SPRING, everything is blooming/emerging from the winter slump. The beautiful flowers/plants, the sunshine, gardening, enjoyable time outdoors!
The list below is our Spring Bucket List, what do you and your family enjoy doing during the spring?

Foraging Wild Plants & Mushrooms
Over the past couple years I’ve fallen in love with foraging. I’ve never realized how many wild plants & mushrooms are out there that are edible, and have amazing health benefits. I’ve already found so many edible/beneficial plants on my property and have only explored half of it – a few are pictured above.
If your local to the Pacific Northwest, this book is amazing!
Having egg hunts all over the property has been her favorite!
Easter Fun
We love doing all the Easter things; local egg hunts, egg hunts at home, decorating eggs, making Easter treats, and making up baskets.
Enjoying tea at a local event
Tea Party
Over the past two years we’ve attended a local tea party, and we’re hoping to do that again. I also want to have tea parties in our garden/food forest as well.
check out this post about attending a tea party!

Preserving Foods
I do some preserving each year, mostly drying and freezing – but this year I want to learn how to can, ferment and smoke foods. I want to preserve all our bounties and in-season foods.
Some springtime foods we’ll be preserving from our own garden; stinging nettle, strawberries, beets, cherries, rhubarb, radishes, green onions, herbs, cabbage, dandelions, and chick weeds.
Picnic lunch at a park
Picnics
We love having picnics! Whether it’s at a park or in our backyard. Spring is when picnic season starts and last until fall.
We normally pack a picnic lunch/dinner from home, but occasionally we’ll have a spur of the moment, and pick up food. So, we always have a picnic blanket in the car for those moments(we have this one & it’s great). Here’s two great baskets as well; this one’s easy to clean, cute & collapsable and this one is multifunctional with a blanket and small table.
Our food forest
Garden
If you’re new around here, gardening is my life. Spring is when the garden starts waking up. There’s a lot of work, but enjoyable work, to do in the garden. From winter clean up, pruning perennials, food forest clean up, preparing and planting this years garden. During the spring, I live in the garden!
My garden/food forest is constantly expanding; I’ve got many posts about my garden, here’s one of our first summer here.
some of my gardening must haves!
Hiking to Dickerson Falls
Hiking
We love hiking and have really been enjoying exploring Kitsap County. Springtime is a great time to do some hiking, if it’s not raining the weather is usually perfect. We’ve got a few hikes we plan on doing this Spring; Dickerson waterfall, Guillemot Cove, Clear Creek Trail, and Big Tree Trail. We just recently hiked, and saw the troll art on Bainbridge Island.

Bees
In the next couple weeks, we’ll be picking up our bees. I’m so excited, and a little nervous. It’s going to be such a fun experience, I’m just a little nervous about transferring the bees to the hives and if we have to deal with any problems(diseases, pests).
Go Fishing
Another one of our adventures we want to start doing this year is, fishing. This past weekend we bought our fishing license, and any last gear we needed. We are looking forward to heading to the water this weekend.
Kids LOVE collecting eggs!
Sell Farm Items
I’m hoping to start selling more of our farm items; I already sell chicken eggs but my goal is to either have a farmstand, sell at the farmers market or just an online store. Sell produce, body and skincare products, wildcrafted products, ect.
Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp
Bake Spring Treats
We are always making treats in the kitchen, but we can’t wait to make Spring inspired treats! Tea party treats, cakes with dried flowers on top, treats using wild plants, berry treats, and seasonal goodies.
Goodies from a farmers market
Weekly Farmers Market
We always love visiting our local Farmer’s Market; seeing all the local farmers, purchasing goodies, and shopping local handmade stuff. It’s fun to see everybody out and enjoying the day. We grow a lot of our own stuff, but not all, so I love supporting the local farms and getting fresh foods.
here’s a great farmers market bag!
Springtime is one of my favorite times of the year, with summer time! What are some things you and/or your family love to do during the spring? I’d love to hear it in the comments.
