Join the fun! Rock painting & hiding! (giveaway ends 4/3)
If you haven’t heard of this fun activity, I’m here to let you in on the little secret. We recently joined in on this fun new to us activity!
What is it you may ask? It’s a treasure hunt. A stress reliever. Exercise. An excuse to get outdoors. Community engagement. Craft. Just a fun activity you can enjoy by yourself or with anyone!
What do you do? There’s a couple ways you can do this.
If you have facebook search (your town) ROCKS and see if there is already a rock group started if not start your own. The group gives you hints to where people are hiding rocks, or maybe you want some ideas of what to paint, ect.
There aren’t any rules if you only want to go hunt for rocks, go for it, if you want to join in on the painting and hiding part do that. When you find a rock keep it or rehide it, take a picture and post to social media the artist always loves to see when someone finds their rock. My family does more of the hunting but have hidden some too, Mason wants to go hunting everyday rain or shine. Below you will find helpful tips for painting.
There are no rules for what you paint and remember you don’t have to be an artist to participate! You could also write sayings/quotes/inspirational words, stickers work too(with sealant).
Tips for painting the rocks! Stop by your local store that sells craft supplies(Walmart has acrylic paints for only .50 cents) you’ll need; paints, paint brushes, paint tray, clear sealant spray works best and rocks. Rocks you can find anywhere outside, just make sure you have permission to take. Smoother rocks work best. Clean and dry the rocks, start painting. Let the paint dry and then spray the sealant. After that has dried your ready to hide. Most importantly have fun!
