ROW Adventures Spokane float trip (with a child)

row adventures

While on our vacation last week, we took a rafting trip down the Spokane River! Back when Mason was 6 we did a float down Leavenworth in inner tubes but this was our first experience in a raft. We had such an amazing time, I’m looking into somewhere closer to home to go back on the river before summer ends.

ROW Adventures Spokane River Float is just that, a float, it’s perfect for families with little ones or people who just want to relax. Most of our trip was very relaxing you could literally just float down with your life-vest and a few spots of class 1 rapids. It was 3 hours of sitting back relaxing on the water, soaking up the sun without overheating, swimming, enjoying each others company, searching for animals which we saw birds and fish.
Mason absolutely loved our adventure, at first he was very skeptical but eased up after the first rapid we encountered and cheered every time we’d hit another one. By the end he was begging to go again with bigger rapids.
The instructors of ROW are very informative, friendly, and helpful. The Spokane location was very easy to find, they provide transportation from their location to the river.

Do I suggest bringing children? Most definitely, they will enjoy it and so will you without worrying, everyone will be provided with a lifejacket. If you’re weary, ask them what minimum age they suggest and the rapid size. Our float had a minimum age of 5 and a child that age would of been just fine, my only concern would be them letting go of the paddle but I’m sure it wouldn’t be the first time.

First time? Find a float session with a low rapid class
Bring sunglasses, hats, water bottle, sandals or tennis shoes(no flip flops!)
Life-vests are provided by ROW
Apply sunscreen before you get on the raft
Spokane location had a small store with reasonable prices, can find glasses chums for only $5, sunglasses and more!
You will be transported to the river location on the bus and are able to store your belongings safely on the bus while you’re rafting
You have the choice to raft or be on a kayak (age 13+)
You will have an instructor on the raft with you
Prices can be found online here, the Spokane float will cost you around $69 (adults) and $62 (youth); 3 launches 9:30AM, 2:00PM, 4:30PM (departure times vary by day)

row adventures

ROW Adventure Center has rafting trips down the rivers in Washington, Idaho, Montana and Oregon. Not only does ROW do rafting trips, they have bike rentals, walking tours, Silverwood packages, fly fishing and more. I would absolutely love to do a whole weekend rafting trip and camp on the shore lines, how fun!! Check out the website here for more information.

I’m so thrilled we tried this new adventure and can’t wait to go river rafting more! Not to mention check out more ROW Adventures!! Leave me a comment if you’ve ever been rafting or plan on going.

Disclosure: My family and I were provided tickets from ROW Adventures for our float. However, all opinions expressed here are my own.
