ROW Adventures Spokane float trip (with a child)
While on our vacation last week, we took a rafting trip down the Spokane River! Back when Mason was 6 we did a float down Leavenworth in inner tubes but this was our first experience in a raft. We had such an amazing time, I’m looking into somewhere closer to home to go back on the river before summer ends.
ROW Adventures Spokane River Float is just that, a float, it’s perfect for families with little ones or people who just want to relax. Most of our trip was very relaxing you could literally just float down with your life-vest and a few spots of class 1 rapids. It was 3 hours of sitting back relaxing on the water, soaking up the sun without overheating, swimming, enjoying each others company, searching for animals which we saw birds and fish.
Mason absolutely loved our adventure, at first he was very skeptical but eased up after the first rapid we encountered and cheered every time we’d hit another one. By the end he was begging to go again with bigger rapids.
The instructors of ROW are very informative, friendly, and helpful. The Spokane location was very easy to find, they provide transportation from their location to the river.
(similar youth Seahawks cap here)
Do I suggest bringing children? Most definitely, they will enjoy it and so will you without worrying, everyone will be provided with a lifejacket. If you’re weary, ask them what minimum age they suggest and the rapid size. Our float had a minimum age of 5 and a child that age would of been just fine, my only concern would be them letting go of the paddle but I’m sure it wouldn’t be the first time.
