The past two years I had been dreaming about breaking out of my comfort zone and attend a blog conference. Well, in June I got the nerve and clicked purchase and I was on my way to attend BlogHer16! Fast forward two months and I was on a flight to L.A. to join over 2,000 people and I didn’t know a single other person in real life. I’m still trying to wrap my head over my busy BUT awesome weekend.
FYI I love celebrity sittings :)
(Left and center Washington state, right Los Angeles! ~ thankful for where I live)
Over the next several weeks you will hear all about my visit to Los Angeles and BlogHer16, so I’ll just start this post out with a quick recap. First off, I’ve never attended a blog conference and didn’t know any bloggers in real life, to be honest I barely knew any bloggers through the interweb. I was all kinds of nervous about attending! That quickly disappeared when I started meeting some amazing ladies, they were all so welcoming. Can’t believe how jam packed the weekend was and how quickly it went by.
Thursday started off with a quick two hour flight to LAX, checked into the hotel, got registered and immediately went to my first private event – Adam & Eve presents Date Night Delivery, which we drank wine and ate delicious foods by Chef Fed.
Friday started early with a Staples private event talking about #Backtoschool with special celebrity guest Lori Loughlin and Gabby Reece, visited with special guest star from the new Air Bud Entertainment film Pup Stars, special keynotes by Sherly Crow talking about her life with breast cancer, Kim Kardashian talking about her social media life. Attended the McDonald’s private event, sampled some of their yummies, heard all about their healthy menu changes. Ended the night with one of my favorite private events Go RVing, met 90210 star Jennie Garth, she was a sweetie and very down to earth. Now I really want to go camping/rving again before the summer ends!! Saw Sarah Michelle Gellar at her Food Stirs booth but too shy to ask for a photo!

Saturday was the last day of BlogHer16 and it was another filled day of excitement! The morning started with breakfast at the More to Migraine. Followed by an advanced screening of Disney’s Pete’s Dragon down the block and finally got to meet Marshall! In theater’s August 12, go here for my review of the film. Lunch keynote was Mayim Bialik about her life and her blog GrokNation.com, by the way we could easily be best friends! Closing keynote was NextGen Feminists in the Public Eye featuring Matt McGorry, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, and Heather Hardy. Dinner with my new friend Liz from http://www.yesnofilms.com/ and the Closing Party at the Conga Room with DJ Fulano.
Couldn’t of asked for a better trip and can’t wait for next year! And please stay tuned for more BlogHer16 posts, coming soon!!
(I thought all you Matt McGorry fans would love this picture)
My biggest take away(s) from this trip would have to be it was such an amazing feeling leaving the title of MOM at home and just being TABITHA, it’s been too long since I’ve done that. Empowerment and #MyBeautyMySay!

Great recap and love how you ended it: “Empowerment and #MyBeautyMySay!” When I walked out the door on our last night there, that’s exactly what I felt.

I think a lot of BlogHer attendees feel that way :) leaving the title of ‘mom’ at home. It was great meeting you, thanks for the shoutout here!
