A stroll & lunch in Westport, WA

Westport is a small beach town on the Washington coast, north of Ocean Shores. In town you can find the marina, whale watching tours, food, shopping, bird watching, boardwalk, fishing, clam digging, beaches, boogie boarding, state parks and so much more.
With my husbands new position in the trailer park business, he’ll be traveling the state a lot more and if works out we’ll be able to tag along. He recently had to drive over to Westport and Raymond, so Piper and I were able to tag along. Although we didn’t get to see much of the town we had a great time!
We grabbed a bite to eat at Aloha Alabama BBQ restaurant which is right on the main road in Westport over looking the water. Great place with indoor and outdoor seating, there was no wait and didn’t take long for our food to arrive. Kid friendly, outdoor is pet friendly. Iced and sweet tea was good. Piper got a side of mac and cheese, which was good but tasted more like noddles, butter and a little cheese. I got the pulled pork plate with cole slaw, baked beans, and cornbread which everything was really good, the butter was a little sweet and fluffy – yum!! My husband got the Works Burger and honestly it was just okay and definitely not worth the price. We’ll have to come back during the warmer months and sit outside, I’ll be getting the pulled pork plate again and maybe some beef brisket.
After stuffing our faces, we walked the marina and boardwalk before hitting the road again. Piper was amazed with all the birds and boats coming in. It was a beautiful and sunny day on the coast, we couldn’t of asked for a better day!
Although our day consisted mostly of a car ride, I am so happy about our spontaneous road trip. It gave us a chance to get away from “life” even for a couple hours, enjoy each others company with no electronic distractions, try a new restaurant and see a new part of the world.
