For this entire week we are bringing awareness to the millions that are affected by Mental Health, that includes everyone affected directly or indirectly by the illness. Did you know 1 in 5 Americans are affected by Mental Health conditions?
Stigma is toxic to their mental health because it creates an environment of shame, fear and silence that prevents many people from seeking help and treatment.
I openly talk about mental health on my blog in regards to raising a child with an illness, so mental health talk isn’t new to me nor is it shameful. Seeking help is so important for someone battling a mental illness, seeking help from a professional and changes you make in your life (self-care days, foods, ect).
