Pup Star coming to Netflix #familymovienight

pup star

A Yorkshire Terrier, competing in a televised singing competition, is separated from her owner by an opportunist dog pound worker.

We had the pleasure of screening Air Bud’s newest film PUP STAR back in August. I also got to meet the star of the show at BlogHer16, she he was too cute and friendly! My family are huge fans of films with animals, and the singing competition shows. Pup Star was just adorable, and we loved watching all the dogs singing. Mason just lit up when Tiny hit the stage and sang, he was literally cheering! I definitely recommend for a family movie night or if you love singing/talking animals :)

I’m happy to report Pup Star will be coming to NETFLIX end of October!

If you love the music in the film, the PUP STAR soundtrack is currently available on iTunes – please find the link to purchase here.

Disclosure: I wasn’t compensated in anyway, however I did receive a code to watch the film. All opinions expressed here are my own.

FALL Monkey Bread Recipe

fall monkey bread recipe

Monkey Bread is always a favorite in our house, especially during the holidays. I’ve been craving them lately and thought about ways I could switch up the recipe for the fall season. And what better than using pumpkin! These are easy to make and if you’ve made monkey bread before these are just as simple. With a little flavor added.

Hope your family loves these as much as mine. Does your family add other flavors to monkey bread? It’s fun to experiment!

Fall Monkey Bread Recipe with Pumpkin

Prep time: 20 minutes
Total time: 50-55 min
Serving size: 6

1/4 granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 can of Jumbo refrigerated biscuits (we like Pillsbury Grands) 16 oz
1/3 cup brown sugar
4 Tbs butter, melted
1/2 cup of pumpkin puree

Step 1. Heat oven to 350º and lightly grease a loaf pan with cooking spray. In a shallow bowl or plate mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Open a can of pumpkin puree and fill a 1/2 cup of the puree.

Step 2: Separate biscuit dough and cut each into quarters. Smear a thin layer of pumpkin puree on one side with a knife and place the pumpkin puree side face down on the granulated sugar/cinnamon bowl. You can choose to do only one side of the biscuit or both. Evenly coat the biscuit pieces with the sugar/cinnamon mix. Arrange the biscuits in the pan.

Step 3: In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and the melted butter; pour over biscuit pieces.

Step 4: Bake 30 to 35 minutes, or ’til golden brown and no longer doughy in the center. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Turn upside down onto serving plate, pull apart to serve and serve warm.

Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet, Give me something good to eat! Halloween Safety Tips

halloween safety tips for children and pets

Once you get over the shock that Halloween is already upon us!

Did you know the night before Halloween is called the Devil’s Night or Mischief Night? Day of pranks. So, it just comes to show that October 30-31 can be very dangerous for children and pets. I compiled a list of safety tips to protect your loved ones and furry family members.

  • Please walk around with your child!! If you think your child is old enough to walk around by themselves, then chances are they too old to be trick or treating. You should supervise your child trick or treating, it is very dangerous they are walking to peoples doors(even sometimes stepping foot inside), people that are luring kids in by candy, it will take you like an hour or two out of your day. Not to scare you but it is scary possibility.
  • Carry a flashlight, buy some glow necklaces(found at the dollar store), make sure people driving can see you. Again, if your child is walking around by themselves in the DARK, it can be very scary and dangerous.
  • If they are too old why not throw a Halloween party with their friends and they can pass out candy or let them go to a Halloween party with their friends.
  • The later you stay out trick or treating, the more of a chance you will be walking with drunk drivers. Harsh reality but yes Halloween brings parties and drinking(& this year it lands on a Friday), so be safe and be off the streets before.
  • Go to a safe neighborhood and one your familiar with is best!
  • Keep furry pets indoors and if your handing out candy keep the pet in another room.
  • Clean off your porches of your belongings, if you are handing out candy you will have tons of kids coming to the door you wouldn’t want something to go up missing(like your child’s bike). Even if you aren’t handing out candy, most likely there will be a-hole teenagers causing mischief.
  • Check your child’s candy before they eat, most likely it will all be fine but there are some messed up people in the world.
  • Weather appropriate clothes for under the costume and good walking shoes. Don’t forget a bucket or bag!!
  • Most importantly HAVE FUN!

What’s your child’s costume this year? I would love to know or if you have a picture/blog post to share! Have a great and safe Halloween!!
