Pineapple Cherry Drop Cake

A delicious fruit cake bursting with flavor; only 4 ingredients, and less than 5 minutes of prep time. It's sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

  • 1 20 oz can crushed pineapple
  • 1 21 oz can cherry pie filling
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 12 Tbsp butter 1 1/2 sticks, sliced
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional
  • whipped cream or vanilla ice cream optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with a nonstick cooking spray.
  • In your baking dish, spread your can of crushed pineapple(with the juice) into the prepared baking dish. Then spread can of cherry pie filling on top of the pineapple.
  • Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the top of the fruit.
  • Next, lay the butter slices evenly over the top of cake mix.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbling. Let cool, but best served warm.

Notes

*When adding the cans of pinapple and cherry, although you can literally just dump and evenly spread. I do like stir the pineapple, and cherry a couple times with a spoon. That's not required, but it does taste a little better. Just don't stir the cake mix and butter in.
