Goodbye 2015, Hello 2016

I’m excited to see what 2016 brings for us, we had a pretty amazing 2015! We had many highs and a few lows from this year, here are some of our memorable moments from 2015 in no particular order!

Mason tried two new sports this year. Flag football – he enjoyed the season but wasn’t passionate about it. But GOLF on the other hand he is a natural and absolutely loves it, can’t get enough of it. Has already done two sessions and is waiting patiently until winter is over or the next session. Click the link above to go see his natural talent 🙂

This past spring we took our first family plane ride over to Disneyland, we all had an amazing time and are counting down until we see the happiest place on earth again!  We celebrated Mason’s golden birthday in Anaheim during spring break, we surprised him the night before we left. “The best birthday” his words. All our Disneyland trip posts can be found here, including a huge list of tips.

During the summer we also took a long drive down to the Oregon Coast, the town of Lincoln City. We stayed in a beautiful home on the water with my husbands side. We had a great time, although it is a bit of a drive for an ocean that looks like a Washington coast 🙂

Our town hosted the U.S. Open Golf Tournament, with more than 200,000 visitors. We survived. Honestly it wasn’t as bad as we expected although I don’t think it had as big as an impact on the town’s economy as they thought?! If you care go check out my pictures of the merchandise day, of course I had to buy some souvenirs 🙂 Other than that unless you had tickets you couldn’t even get close to the golf course! And fyi some day Mason will be playing in the U.S. Open, the same course he hit his first ball 😉

We had many days going to the beach, going to the theater, went to the Ringling Bros circus, Annie the Musical at the Paramount and so much more. We also adopted a stray kitten and named her Chloe, she’s now about 5 months old and fits in perfectly.

I also wrote about our neighboring town of Tacoma and some ideas of what to do with kids, so if you’re visiting Seattle drive the short 30 minute drive down(or take the bus, train). It’s home of the movie “Ten Things I Hate About You” filming location!!

Our year wasn’t all that peachy, we had our lows. The second half of Mason’s school year we had I don’t know how many calls home from the principal or reports from the teacher. Every day I would dread the phone ringing during school hours, and having the thoughts that he would have to do 1st grade over because he wasn’t learning as much from spending too much time in the office. Thankfully he didn’t fall behind and has had an amazing 2nd grade so far. I started to write about having a Strong-Willed Child and hope to continue to write about the ups and downs.

Parenting learn from all my mistakes blog post! We all make mistakes and here’s a couple of mine.

My family and I have been talking about planning a huge family camping trip for a couple years and we finally pulled it together. It was a blast and I can’t wait to do it again this summer, but maybe not somewhere we can hear the cougars 😉 Camping Summer 2015 and my 5 tips for camping with kids!!

Hope you and yours have a great and safe! New Years!! We’ll be partying it up at home, with a good movie and yummy food! In for a wild night 🙂
