Update 1/10/2019: We’ve been getting the Imperfect Produce box since May 2018 and we are STILL in love with the company. We’ve only had two imperfections and they just happen to be two sour apples but still edible. I’ve noticed us eating more veggies than we normally do because we are racing to get it all eaten before the next box arrives. Read below for all the info, including receiving $10 credit for your first box.
We eat a lot of fruits and vegetables! With that usually comes a more expensive grocery bill, but Imperfect Produce can help you with that. Find out more below.
With Imperfect Produce you get; healthy, delicious fruits and veggies for 30-50% less than grocery stores, delivered to your door. Not only do you save money, you fight food waste – 6 billion lbs of produce go to waste each year in the United States alone.
You are able to customize each box, delivered to your door – they deliver to the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, and Chicago. So, all you locals to Tacoma they deliver here 😉 If you’re wondering, no they aren’t taking away the foods that are donated to food banks. Choose your box size and whether you want all fruits, veggies or a mix.
We ordered and received our first box this past week, we had no idea what to expect – all the fruits and veggies were fresh, exactly like they say online some are on the small size, the avocados had brown spots on the outside but were perfect in the inside. The green peppers were perfect, better than I’ve seen in the stores lately. My whole box of fruit/veggies (including 3 small avocodas) was $13. This is a subscription box we will be getting each week!
With our first box we saved 11 lbs of diverted produce, 63 gallons of water saved, and 38 lbs of CO² out of the air!!
If you qualify for food stamps, you can apply for a reduce cost box and save even more money.
