Our Independence Day was pretty great. It started out with a relaxing morning, we all slept in and had “flag” toast for breakfast, and honestly it wasn’t good so next year we will try it a different way.
We then headed with my sister and niece(have I mentioned they moved about a block away from us so we see them a lot?) to the Steilacoom 4th of July festival, for the past couple years I’ve been meaning to check it out. Finally did this year! The parade was fun, perfect amount of time but the rest of the festival was crowded and it was hot that day so that probably didn’t help. But all in all we had a great time at the parade, it’s a must every year.
I had to take a picture of some red balloons that got away, it reminded me of that heart breaking story just recently of the child getting hit by the car #redballoonsforryan and reminded me to count my blessings!
Our traditional flag cake Mason and I make every year 😉
We spent the other half of the 4th on the lake; friends, family, food, fireworks and fun! Mason was really into the fireworks this year, and not just the paper pop its he wanted the firecrackers and the kids were like having battles with them. Paranoid Mom here!!
I am horrible at taking night/firework pictures, I promise next year I will have it down. I saved some sparklers to practice taking those cool pictures you see. The best firework photo I took came from my cell phone lol. We had a wonderful fourth though, hope you did as well! Leave me a comment letting me know what you did or a link to your blog post!!
