Halloween 2015

Well, I’m about two weeks behind for this post. Halloween came and gone! It was a pretty great day despite the horrible weather. We started the day out with Mason’s flag football game, his team played extremely well even though only 5 boys showed up(rain and wind) and they had to play the whole game without a break. The best part Mason scored his very first touchdown and I’ve never seen him prouder, his face running down the sideline was priceless and still brings me to tears when I think about it. Only wish I would of got it on camera!

Costumes. The only year I have ever been able to pick out Mason’s costume was the very first year and even then he cried for the whole time it was on. All those kids with those handmade, picked out by their parents, costumes – well, I could say I was jealous of that but in all honestly I’m not. I’m very proud and happy that my child is adamant with what he wants, he doesn’t want that “my costume is so awesome and elaborate, that I am going to win the best costume award”. Shoot, the costume he choose this year is from a movie he’s never even seen, a movie that is almost 20 years old, all because he liked it. I’m also proud that I’m one of those parents that doesn’t force my child to wear a certain costume, that he can decide for himself. Let go of the reigns a little people!

Okay, enough about costumes! Halloween night, let’s just say it was a little wet! The weather here in the Pacific Northwest was your typical fall/winter day. I don’t know if that’s the reason there seems to be less trick or treaters or it’s the times we live in?! But I noticed very little kids walking the streets on Halloween night, nothing what it used to be like when I was a kid. We had a great evening though and got more candy then we needed(STILL have half left)! Leave me a comment with what your kid (or yourself) dressed up as?

My niece spent the night and was very afraid to go to sleep because the scream mask was in the house. I hope you enjoy our new version of the scream guy!

“Once upon a time, there lived a guy who wore white and black makeup when he went to the movies. He would sit there with everyone staring at him. Not because he was wearing funny looking makeup but because every time he saw a scary part he would scream so loud and his mouth was so big everyone threw popcorn into it. “

Until next year….
