Find relief from morning sickness with Sea-Band Mama! #MomsMeet #Giveaway

Find relief from morning sickness with Sea-Band Mama! #MomsMeet #Giveaway

Nausea is a common symptom of pregnancy, I had nausea with both my kids. With my second child, I had horrible morning sickness for months, it was very hard to function each day. I was always searching for something to relieve my nausea in a safe and natural way. I tried crackers, lemon water, mints with relief lasting a little while.

Sea-Band Mama! is the leading brand for morning sickness relief. Although I didn’t get to personally experience the Sea-Band Mama with my morning sickness, I didn’t learn about the brand until after I had baby. Sea-Band does carry other anti-nausea products and we were able to try those out.

There is nothing worst than not feeling well, and having morning sickness during pregnancy puts a damper on a time that’s supposed to be special.

Sea-Band Mama! is a knitted elasticated wrist band, which operates by applying pressure on the Nei Kuan acupressure point on each wrist by means of a plastic stud. The bands can be worn on each wrist whenever you feel nauseous. The Sea-Band puts pressure on the P6 (NeiKuan) point between the two central tendons near the wrist.

Sea-Band Mama! Ginger Lozenges stimulate the production of digestive juices, it acts quickly to neutralise stomach acids and soothe tender tummies. Natural ginger has been used for a long time to soothe an upset stomach.

Sea-Band Mama! Ginger and Spearmint Rollette contains a handmade, soothing blend of natural essential oils to help settle a mom-to-be’s stomach. Simply apply to your wrists, temples or chest in the morning or as required and feel the calming and settling properties take effect.

Sea-Band’s products are a safe, natural, drug free way to relieve an upset tummy from; travel sickness, pregnancy morning sickness, post-operative symptoms, and chemotherapy.

We really enjoyed trying these products. Mason got the stomach bug this past week and was able to give the bands, and anti-nausea ginger lozenges (which also come in non-pregnancy form) a try. He really liked them and didn’t even complain about the ginger flavor which normally he would have. As a parent I loved being able to give my child some relief with natural products. The Sea-Band’s come in the adult and child sizes, along with the new Mama! bands. The bands are also reusable and washable, which is a huge plus in my book.

39 Weeks, Counting down… #BumpDate

39 weeks pregnant

Welcome to my last week(hopefully not longer) of pregnancy! I didn’t think it’d take me 9 weeks to do another update on the bump. Time got away, but can you really be surprised?! Well, I’m ready for baby girl to be here so we can cuddle her and my body is just too uncomfortable now and summer weather is just now beginning in the PNW! By the way after baby comes I know I’ll be a little mia on the blog, I’ll try not to but don’t get your hopes up. Be sure to follow my Instagram, as I’ll be posting there frequently.

How far along? 39 weeks and 2 days
Maternity clothes: Yes, but even some shirts are getting small
Stretch marks? Still only the love handles
Sleep: It’s so-so, and very tired all today. Maybe it’s a sign baby is coming?!
Best moment this week: Count down until summer break(1/2 day left of school) AND baby arrives!
Miss anything? Yes ~ laying on my stomach/back, bending over, not peeing every hour, being able to breath, sweet tea, my garden work…there’s a list going
Movement: It’s starting to slow down, but she still occasionally likes to kick or punch me in the right ribs or left hip
Food cravings: While walking through Costco the other day, I was hungry and craved a slice of cake so I bought the whole darn thing lol. Yes, a whole sheet of Costco cake!! Thank goodness, I didn’t have many cravings this pregnancy.
Anything making you queasy or sick? At times the thought of food makes me a little queasy
Gender: Girl
Labor signs: I’m getting braxton hicks contractions, very tired with a few spurts of energy, she has dropped

Third trimester, still another 4 weeks to go

pregnancy

I’ve reached the point in pregnancy that I am just done. Third trimester a little over 36 weeks, but my midwife says I could go a week after my due date just because it’s been 9 years. Although I am very uncomfortable, my upper abdomen hurts from stretching, every time she moves kicks or punches my hip bone, occasionally out of breath, swollen ankles and acid reflux, and not to mention I’m so tired of just sitting around but have no energy.

Besides all that, I am truly hoping she stays in until school is out for the summer so she can come anytime after June 21st!! It would just make things easier. AND we still have a couple things left to do! Actually below you’ll find everything that is still on our baby to-do list and see how much of a procrastinator/slacker I am 😉

+ Hospital bag needs packed
+ Car seat need installed
+ Take out of package and put together swing and playpen
+ About 90% done with her room
+ Order breast pump from insurance
+ Write up birth plan
+ Stock pantry, freezer meals
+ Deep clean house

Among all our other non baby related to-dos. Please someone send me a clone!!

Why it’s so important to #BumpUpYourCalcium with Viactiv during pregnancy!

viactiv #bumpupyourcalcium

Pregnancy is such an important time in your life, not only for the baby growing inside you but also yourself. Maintaining your health can be very difficult during pregnancy but is the key to a great pregnancy, labor, postpartum and the health of your baby.

Did you know approximately 68% of women are calcium deficient. Meeting your recommended 1000 mg of daily calcium during pregnancy is especially important because baby’s bones, teeth, heart, nerves and muscles depend on calcium for growth. That if you don’t include enough calcium in your daily diet, your baby will start drawing this nutrient from your own bones, putting your own bone health at risk.

Along with getting enough calcium during pregnancy, you should also make sure you are getting enough iron, vitamin D, folic acid and iodine, as well as other important things such as increased sleep, calories and getting some exercise. And of course set a little time out of each day to just sit and relax!

viactiv #bumpupyourcalcium

Most prenatal vitamins contain just 20-30% of the calcium you require daily. Adding #Viactiv Calcium Soft Chews are an easy and delicious way to make sure you’re getting the calcium you need. Available in milk chocolate or caramel flavors, two Viactiv Calcium Soft Chews have 100% of your daily recommended, plus Vitamin D and K which help with calcium absorption. Viactiv Calcium Soft Chews are intended to help achieve recommended daily dietary levels of these nutrients as a supplement to diet/food sources and do not replace the need for a prenatal vitamin.

I’ve had the opportunity to try both flavors, milk chocolate and caramel. They are both very easy to take, not like swallowing a big pill. I’d have to say my favorite flavor was milk chocolate only because I’m not a huge fan of caramel flavored stuff. And I’ve noticed my body takes to chew-able vitamins a lot better than swallowing pills and I’d rather have a happy tummy during pregnancy then having an upset one. They are individually wrapped so you can toss them in your purse or lunch, makes it easier to not forget to take them each day. Viactiv has 1/2 the calories and 1/2 the sugar compared to the leading calcium gummy supplement.

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to become pregnant, speak with your healthcare provider before taking any supplements. Learn more about calcium needs and pregnancy at http://bit.ly/BumpUpYourCalcium.

Viactiv Calcium Soft Chews are available nationwide supermarket, drugstores and major retailers, including CVS, Rite Aid, Target and Walmart.

Getting ready for baby…

Can’t believe we’re less than 7 weeks until we’ll have a new baby! I can’t wait to see what she looks like and hold her but for the most part I’m not rushing the 7 weeks, I still have a TON to do. With what feels like no time! I promise I’ll be back with a bumpdate post real soon. Here’s some of the baby related things we’ve been up to lately…

Maternity Leave
I’m going on my second week of maternity leave, I decided to take it early and actually decided to become a full time stay-at-home Mom. Although I will be helping my husband with all the administrative work for his job and going to start focusing on blogging full-time! Maternity leave…I don’t quite know if I’d call it a break just yet I feel like I’ve been running around non-stop the past week and a half and haven’t actually had time to enjoy it or even relax for more than two hours.

Baby Shower
Baby shower is over and I can honestly say as much as I enjoy a good party, there is that filling of relief – that now I can completely prepare for baby to arrive. Plus it was very exhausting being pregnant and planning a shower, now it’s time to relax! It was teal and pink beach themed shower, nothing fancy because I’m no Pinterest Pro! One thing about parties I love is making the cake/cupcakes, I love baking! By the way, I’ve been slacking on taking photos lately so these are them…I haven’t even taken a bump shot in a couple weeks!

baby showerMy present helpers – soon to be Big Brother and cousin! Really, I think they just wanted to make a huge mess LOL!

Nursery
So…the nursery, is a work in progress! Like slacking on photo taking, well I’ve also been slacking on getting the nursery ready. We’ve got quite a bit bought but it’s just thrown everywhere so I took a couple hours on Sunday to start the organizing. We are going with a woodland theme, again no pinterest pro 😉

Park Find
The other day while Mason and I were at the local park we happened upon a wood art treasure that someone hid for others to find. I couldn’t believe no one else spotted it as the park was very busy, but I guess it was meant to be that we take it home and place in the nursery. It couldn’t match more perfectly!
